Essence – Choose Me

So, it’s been a while ago since my last nailpolishpost. I’m sorry about that but school was a little bit more important for me last week. Now I’ve got time to blog again, so here is a new swatch. This time I’m gonna show you Essence’s Choose Me. I know this polish is featured quite a lot on the WWW and that’s why I waited a bit with swatching it. When I got this as a surprise at the package from PimpMyNailz I’ve won recently I remembered this one and decided it was time to do a blogpost. I got a backup for this one and will do a giveaway soon so you can win it!

This one is really easy to apply on your nails. The downside is that it is quite pigmentated and stains your nails easily. A good basecoats is really recommended for this one. The other downside is that it kinda sheer so I needed 3 quite thick coats to get this opaque. The pictures shown above are a little bit more green than the polish is irl. It’s more like the bottle. more duochrome with really gorgeous blue and green colors and shimmer. It’s one of the many dupes from Zoya Charla but I’m really glad I got it. A must-have for every lacquerista.
MNY 661

A while ago I was the winner of a giveaway at Iris (PimpMyNailz) her blog. I’ve won 5 nailpolishes from MNY. Luckily, I didn’t already had one of them. The first I’m gonna show you is this darkblue with a nice shimmer. I didn’t understand what everybody was bragging about with the MNY lacquers. They said the weren’t easy to apply etc. I never experienced that till this polish. The application was not that easy. It dried not fast enough so when I was ready to apply the second coat the first came off.. Hmmz, needed to be a little more patient. When I waited for a few minutes I could apply a second and third coat.

I think it’s a shame that this polish wasn’t that easy to apply since I really dig the color! I love these kind of blue’s. I needed 3 coats for full coverage and a smooth surface. Dry time was a bit on the long side and you need to be really carefull when applying a topcoat. I wish this was one of the nice formula lacquers but unfortunately it’s not. I will use this more often since I really like the color!
Milani Blue Flash

Last in this series is Blue Flash from the One Coat Glitter collection. A gorgeous blue glitter. I really like the glitters in the one coat glitter collection. They are easy to apply and only take 2 coats to cover. Removal is quite easy for a glitter lacquer.

Gritty without topcoat, same as Purple Gleam. This one has a clear base and dries with silver and blue glitters.

With one coat of topcoat. This one needs a thick coat or at least 2 to make it feel like a normal lacquer instead of a gritty one when you go over your nails with your finger.
I still recommened everyone that loves glitterpolishes to buy these ones. They are amazing and I after these I also want to get the other ones in this collection.
Teeez – Cool 02

Last month I saw a few posts on other blogs about the brand Teeez. As I’m curious I wanted to test that brand myself, but in my neighboorhood there isn’t a store nearby. So this was going on the to-do list. When I was in a shop a visit at a regular base I bumped accidentily into this brand again. They weren’t on the list of shops that sell Teeez at the Teeez website so I didn’t knew that they sold it there. Lucky me! I bought 2 lacquers, the first one is this blue called Cool 02. It is an holographic polish so I will wear it in the summer. The application was really great, this is only 2 coats. The formula was great, it applied like a dream and it seemed to be a regular polish. Holographic lacquers sometimes are horrible when applying a second or third coat. This one didn’t. Dry time was also good. Overall opinion is great! Will test the weartime in the summer when I can enjoy the holographic effect. For now I took a picture with flash so you can actually see it’s holographic
No Mambo Jambo

No Mambo Jambo is this gorgeous blue shimmery color. I saw it when I was at my local H&M. Last year they rebuild the store and since then we have a little corner with some makeup. A few weeks ago I did a little shopping spree and found this one. They had a similar color without the shimmer, but I liked this one better. Application was really good. I almost always like the nailpolishes form H&M. The formula is just right and they applicate like a dream I think. I did 2 coats for these swatches and there is no VNL. Drytime was also quite good.

As a design-student I really like the design of these bottles. I dislike the fact that it has a square cap, but the typography is really good. Balanced and I like it. Enough about that. The bottle contains 9ml which isn’t that much. Enough for me since I have enough nailpolish for a lifetime (or two). It costs €3,95, which I think is a bit much for such a small bottle. Overall I like this nailpolish!
Blue Bell

I really thought that this one was up for today, but I think it wasn’t or I didn’t saved it. Anyways, last in row from these DC lacquers is Blue Bell. A gorgeous blue color. I really really like it. These are only 2 coats and complete coverage. Application was okay, it dried a bit slower than I am used to with Diamond Cosmetics but it wasn’t bad at all. I like this color with Princess Orchid the best from all the lacquers that are in this special Boozyshop collection. The color of this one reminds me a bit of an jeans.

Bluh, my cuticles look horrible! The weather in the Netherlands is getting really cold. We actually had our first snow today. I need to get used to use my lemony flutter more!
DC Purple and Turquoise Glitter

These are 2 of the other lacquers from the Exclusive Boozyshop Diamond Cosmetics. They have a clear basecolor and are full of glitters. They do need a basecolor, because these swatches are 3 coats and it still didn’t cover my whole nails. I do think the glitters are really gorgeous, they are so shiny when the light hits them. If you are looking for a nice colored glitter topper, these are a good suggestion! They do have a jelly base, which is quite normal for a glitter. That makes them not that easy to apply if you want to use it as a regular lacquer.
Atlantis

I loved this polish when I first saw swatches of it. I had it for quite a while now, but only used it once. It is quite opague on its one so you need to use a basceolor. The thing I dislike about this glitter is that is quite thick, kinda jelly. I do not like working with these kind of lacquers. I work fast so I always get more polish on the tips of my nails, wich makes it look like there is a lot of polish on my nails.
I used a black base for this manicure, but Atlantis looks great on a blue or green basecoat, cause it has a blue base.
Sexy in the City

When I look at the name of this polish I would’ve thought that this will be a gorgeous barbie or bright pink. Well, as you can see, it isn’t. This is a gorgeous greenish blue with shimmer. It reminds me of the ocean and summer. It isn’t an unique color, I’ve seen it by serveral brands before and I own a few colors that are very similar to this one.

One thing I like about this polish that this one is the most easy to applicate from al these kinda colors I have. It is almost opaque in 2 coats and dries very fast. I bet it will last quite long too, cause most of the China Glaze lacquers I own tend to do that. I will give this one another try in the summer. With these dark days I like to use darker colors on my nails.
Hip Queens Wear Blue Jeans!

As a lot of you know, Catrice changed the look of their core line. They added a few polishes to their core collection, and this is one of them. Don’t you love the name? It is a jeans (surprise..) blue with little blue shimmers. I really like it. The shimmer isn’t really noticable. You can see it better in the bottle than on the nails, but I still like this color. It is not a blue you can find at any drugstore brand. It’s kinda unique and I like that.

Application, dry time and weartime were just how we are used to with the new catrice polishes. This one was not that thick so it is just plain perfect for me. I really like it!
