Catrice Absolutely Chinchilly

First of all, for my dutch readers, I own a beautyblog since the first of february called Beauty ‘n Spice. I think it would be great if you will follow me there! All my beauty related posts will be up there since it is much easier for me to write in Dutch instead of English since Dutch is my first language. I will keep Nailoholic and will post my nailart etc. here but it will be on less regular base.
Anyways, today I want to show you one of the new Catrice lacquers. It’s absolutely Chinchilly and I’ve won it at a giveaway at Battered Rose, this website is closed since the owner decided to start up a new blog, feeling more like her. That’s Ara’s Adventures.

I love this color! It’s so gorgeous, greyish brown. The sort of color that we have seen quite some times in the fall/winter. It was easy to apply, only needed 2 coats, dried fast. Can’t really wish for more. Imo this is a must-have fashionable color!
Pieces – Light Cookie Dough

Pieces Accessoiries is a accessoires (what’s in a name) store in the Netherlands. The store is originally from Denmark, and located in a quite a few countries all over the world. Pieces is also sold at Vero Moda. For more information about Pieces you can visit their website: pieces.com.
A while ago I saw a Pieces nailpolishrack in the Vero Moda store in my city. It didn’t convinced me buying some because the colors they sold at that moment could be found in loads of other collections from quite some other brands. A week or 2 ago a Pieces store opened in my city. There I saw the lacquers again and this time I got a little more enthusiastic. The first color that I noticed was this brown color named Light Cookie Dough. I do not think that this name suits the polish because in my opinion cookie dough is way lighter than this nailpolish. But I do not mind, cause the color itselfs looks quite good.

On the downside: the polish is quite thick and not really easy to apply. Tomorrow I will show you Granit. After I tried this one I knew Granit would need a little thinner. That made it a whole different story, I liked the application when I thinned the polish a little. I used for these pictures 2 coats, but it still isn’t a full coverage as you can see, so you probably need 3. I like the package of the lacquers, but I dislike the fact that I can’t take off the cap, because I do not like working with the square cap. The lacquers are sold for €2,95 each and 3 for €6,95 which is quite good for what you get. The bottle contains 10 ml. As far I could check the ingredients, the lacquers is big 3 free.
- My overal opinion is good, after you use some thinner. The collection changes once in a while and they have fashionable colors. You can get these lacquers at a Pieces or Vero Moda store. They are €2,95 each or 3 for €6,95 which I think is a good deal.
MNY 549 ft. Konad

I tried another MNY lacquer. My sister bought me 4 lacquers when I asked her to pick out some colors for me. I always like these surprises cause she is buying other colors than I would. One of them is this dark brown creme. I didn’t liked it on my own, I have way to light skin for this color. So I decided to do a konad. I messed the konad up big time, so I did a little touch up with a brush, but that didn’t made it any better, so sorry for this messed up nailart. I tested how long this lacquer hold so I showered, worked with it and a day of school, and a day with some shopping and the result is this. The lacquer stays on pretty well, a little chipped at my middle finger but the rest is okay. I’m surprised.

I think the brown and silver is a good combination. I got a lot of compliments on my nails on my work. I see a lot of people looking but not saying a thing. Does this happens to you too? I’m always wondering what they are thinking and if they like it or not. Not that I mind because I do like it, but it is always nice to have some compliments on your nails.
Walk of Fame

Yep, here’s another nude. This brown color is from the Colour & Go line from Essence and only cost met €1,79 or so. I wasn’t planning on buying another nude, but there was a 2+1 sale so I needed a +1 and chose for Walk Of Fame.

Walk Of Fame is a greyish creme brown color. The application was okay, 2 coats for complete coverage. It was a bit on the thick side, which I experience all the time with Essence polishes. That’s one of the main reasons I do not really like the lacquers from this brand. I have to say I the Limited Editions are way better than the core line lacquers. Those are easy to applicate and not as thick as the cores. After all I like this color and with some thinner it is a nice polish.
MNY 150

Yesterday you’ve seen the gorgeous purple polish from the new MNY collection. Today it’s this nude one. I’m not really into the nudes we have seen a lot on runways and collections the past few months. But I thought I should give it a try before I decided to not like them. Guess what, I kinda like this one. I still will choose the bright colors over the nudes, but I think I might start to like this trend. A bit late, I know, but it’s never too late.

In the post from yesterday you could’ve read that I really like the application of these polishes. The pigment is so amazing. This nude color is 1 color on my pinky and 2 on the others. So I think I can say this one is a one-coater, but only if you used a ridgefiller for the or your nails are really smoothv. The lacquer was a bit thicker than the other but application was still okay. Just needed to wait a little longer between layers.
Essence – Chocolate Shake

This is a lacquer from a previous limited edition collection, named creamylicious. The colorname is Chocolate Shake. A lacquer with the name Chocolate Shake? I really need to have it! You do me a huge favoure if you are visiting me and bring some chocolate with you. I admit. I’m a chocoholic.

This lacquer reminds me a bit of the Catrice Lost in mud/From dust to dawn colors. The lacquer has a little golden/orange shimmer in it, but that isn’t really visible when you are wearing it unfortunately. The application was quite good. The lacquers from the LE from Essence are always way more easy to apply than the core ones. I do not like the formula of most of the core line Essence lacquers, but the LE always please me. This one is a bit thin, but really easy to apply and had full coverage in 2 coats. Unfortunately this polish isn’t available in most stores anymore. Sometimes I do see it in the salearea in the drugstore I bought it. Actually, mine is from one of those.
Copper Foil

Copper foil is a metallic brown/bronzed color. You know those metallic colors that always give you that streaky effect? Well, look at the picture. I do not see that, and I’m not wearing any topcoat on my nails on these pictures. I love it! The first metallic lacquer that I can apply like a creme one.

The picture above is a bit blurry, I know. I really like how this polish is sometimes more silver and sometimes more brown. Most of the time I don’t like nor wear this kinda brown colors. When I do, I normally will take it off in a few hours, just because they don’t feel right on me. I actually like this one. It’s a 2coater, a dream to apply and well worth to buy.
Thimbleberry

This gorgeous polish is Thimbleberry from Sinful Colors. The bordeaux red base is filled with gorgeous red shimmer. It is kinda dark but I really like it. In the picture above you can really see how lovely the red shimmer is. It’s this way (or even better) in sunlight. When your nails are in normal light they are a little darker but still gorgeous.

I find all my Sinful ones I tried out yet easy to be applied and the wear time is quite good. I bought this polish at the CherryCulture sale from a few weeks ago. It went straight in my Helmer and today I thought let’s digg it out. And oomph, it’s looking good! I think I’m gonna wear this one quite often when winter starts again, can’t wait!

Ik heb Herome’s W.I.C.

This is 08B from Art de Lautrec. A jelly brown base with holographic glitters. This are 3 coats. The application is just like any other jelly. I’m not really a fan of jelly-based polishes. I just don’t like it.. At all.. I will swatch the other ones for you (I have got a red, pink and purple one) but only expect swatches.
