Lubu Heels

I want to show you one of the lacquers I love the most of my stash. I thought I already showed you this one, but I haven’t. I think a lot of you already know this amazing color, since it is so gorgeous and I think many girls already have it. If you do not, why wait any longer! It is a-ma-zing. I’m talking about Lubu Heels. A gorgeous polish with a black base and really nice red shimmers.

In real life the red glitter is a bit more noticeable than on the pictures above. It’s more like the part near my cuticles on the swatch above. I really love it! If you are looking at this manicure close you can see how amazing it is, are you a little further away it is more like a burgundy red. The wear time is amazing. I wore this for a whole week (including 2 work-days) and only after the last work-day with a lot of wrapping boxes and unpacking I needed it to take of because it was chipped. Application was also great, this is 2 coats. I think this is a must-have in every collection cause it’s original and lovely.

Atlantis

I loved this polish when I first saw swatches of it. I had it for quite a while now, but only used it once. It is quite opague on its one so you need to use a basceolor. The thing I dislike about this glitter is that is quite thick, kinda jelly. I do not like working with these kind of lacquers. I work fast so I always get more polish on the tips of my nails, wich makes it look like there is a lot of polish on my nails.

I used a black base for this manicure, but Atlantis looks great on a blue or green basecoat, cause it has a blue base.

Sexy in the City

When I look at the name of this polish I would’ve thought that this will be a gorgeous barbie or bright pink. Well, as you can see, it isn’t. This is a gorgeous greenish blue with shimmer. It reminds me of the ocean and summer. It isn’t an unique color, I’ve seen it by serveral brands before and I own a few colors that are very similar to this one.

One thing I like about this polish that this one is the most easy to applicate from al these kinda colors I have. It is almost opaque in 2 coats and dries very fast. I bet it will last quite long too, cause most of the China Glaze lacquers I own tend to do that. I will give this one another try in the summer. With these dark days I like to use darker colors on my nails.

Far Out

I’m not really a girl who wears brown. A brown lacquer almost always makes my skintone look really pale. This one doesn’t. It is a really light brown with golden shimmer. The brown has a red undertone.

Application was great. This is only 2 coats. The polish itself is quite thin, so I had to make sure that there wasn’t a lot of polish on the brush. Drytime was quite good. ChinaGlaze is one of my favourite brands and this is one of the reasons why. Their application is almost every time really good, weartime is good, most of the formulas are quite good so I don’t have anything bad to say about the brand.

An affair to remember

When I updated my excelsheet with the links of posts with swatches I found out that I didn’t swatched a bunch of ChinaGlaze, which actually surprised me. I thought I already swatched and wore all of them. Seems I was wrong at that. Anyways. This is An Affair To Remember. It is a lacquer with a frost finish. In the bottle it looked more red to me, on my nails it’s more a dark pink. Not that I mind, cause I love my pinks.

I was actually quite surprised with the pigmentation in this polish. It was almost opaque in 1 coat, where I expected it to be sheer. I did 2 coats for the pictures. Application was great, dry time was great. It is a shame that this polish was untried and in my Helmer for so long. I think I’m gonna wear this color next summer a lot. I really like it. It is (for me) one of those colors I like to wear to my work

Vertical Rush

I thought I showed this one on Nailoholic before, but I didn’t. This is Vertical Rush from Chinaglaze. It is a really cool pinkish red with shimmer. The application is great, just what we are used to from China Glaze. The wear time is a bit of a turn off. It chipped after a few hours and after two days I really had to take it off. I’m not used to that with ChG.

I was surprised with the pigmentation. This is almost a 1 coater. I did two because I like that better, but if you are not into the perfectionisme like me it would do with one.

Cowgirl up ft Nfu Oh.

Yay, my internet is back up! So finally an update again. Last week I asked a friend of mine what nailpolish I should wear. He wanted purple with glitters. So, that’s the little story behind this nailpolish. It’s ChinaGlaze’s CowGirl Up topped with a layer of Nfu Oh’s 51. For those wondering. Yep, one of my favourite manicures is a purple color topped with an flake. I think this color combination is really amazing and the purple makes the flakes pop a bit more.

Back to School

After seeing this Rose manicure at the Lacquer Files and Beautylab (Serena made a photo-tutorial about this, it’s in Dutch but the pictures a very clear, so go check it out!) I really wanted to try it. Today it’s my first day school, so last week I was thinking about a back to school manicure when suddenly this popped into my mind. So I tried, and think it turned out quite good for my first attempt. It is not that difficult as it looks like, but you really need to practice a little bit. You easily get a plain pink color instead of having the rose effect. At least, that’s what I got, I tend to mix the two colors to much.

The polishes I used for this are For Audrey from China Glaze as the base color, a red Konad and a white Konad nailpolish (next time I’m gonna use regular polishes, these are not so fast drying as the Konad Polishes, maybe that makes it a little bit easier to do) for the roses and Happy/Earthy for the leafs. It’s really fun to do, but takes a bit of time. If you are into nailart you should try this out.

Electric Lilac

This is a little sister from Atlantis. I need to wear Atlantis any time soon but from the swatches I saw I think this one is the purple version of it. It is a bit sheer, so you will need a purple basecoat to let it pop. This is 3 kinda thick coats. The base is jelly so it is a bit slow drying.

The glitters are a bit holographic, but nothing much. It reminds me a bit of Milani’s 3d holographic Hi-Res but that one is a bit more purple and less sheer.

This lacquer is a bitch to remove. Glitters are always hard to remove, but this is a bit chunky in my opinion, so even harder. But well, who wants to be beautiful needs to do some work.

Blue Sparrow

When I was about to order some polishes I was searching for swatches from ChinaGlaze polishes. Suddenly I saw this one and immediately fell in love. I feel like this is a little brother from Strawberry Fields and Ruby pumps (a post of that one is coming). Blue Sparrow dries quite matte so a topcoat is needed. And, this one is very pigmentated so please, please use a basecoat. Even then you could get stained nails.

It does remind a little of Dorothy Who (note to self: do a comparison) but this one is opaque in 2/3 coats.
