Teeny Bikini

I can be short about this particular Sephora nailpolish. I don’t like it, it was thick, not easy to apply, drytime was really long and the only thing I did like about this one is the color. I really like these kind of minty greens. Anyways, this is it for now, don’t want to spend any more words on this one…

17 – Love

A while ago I showed you True Blue from 17. I wasn’t that positive about the lacquer. Didn’t like the formula etc. You can imagine that I was a bit hesitated to try one of the others I got from my sister. Today I have this lacquer called Love for you. It’s from the same collection as True Blue, it’s called High Gloss. The pictures are made without having a topcoat on so I can say that this is really glossy. For the shine you don’t need to use a topcoat but I really recommend it because if you have a good one you will prevent your nailpolish from chipping.

This polish had a full coverage in 2 coats. The formula was a lot better than True Blue (I keep typing True Blood, same as I did with the titel of that post, addicted much..). It was a bit thin but okay, drytime was good and application was quite easy. A big surprise for me since I expected it to be just as horrible as the first one. This polish is a bit more pigmentated then True Blue since it only needed 3 coats and the True Blue might have needed 3 coats to make it seem less watery than it shows on those pictures. This bottle contains 10ml. I can’t tell you anything about the ingredients because I couldn’t find a label. I looked on the Boots website but couldn’t find ingredients on their either. The nailpolish is £3.49 which is about $5,54 or €4,16.

Granit

As I promised yesterday, here is the post from the other Pieces lacquer I own. This is Granit, a dark grey cream. I told you in yesterdays post how I feel about the formula of these polishes so if you didn’t read that one, do it now!

I think this is a great color wich is kinda unique for a lacquers sold in a store. At least in the Netherlands. I know some other brands which sell grey nailpolish but that aren’t that many brands that are available for us in the Netherlands offline. I used 3 coats to cover my nails completely. The polish dries quickly, even without a fast drying topcoat the polish is touchdry in a few minutes. I like the pieces lacquers, so if you have an oppertunity to get them, do!

Pieces – Light Cookie Dough

Pieces Accessoiries is a accessoires (what’s in a name) store in the Netherlands. The store is originally from Denmark, and located in a quite a few countries all over the world. Pieces is also sold at Vero Moda.  For more information about Pieces you can visit their website: pieces.com.

A while ago I saw a Pieces nailpolishrack in the Vero Moda store in my city. It didn’t convinced me buying some because the colors they sold at that moment could be found in loads of other collections from quite some other brands. A week or 2 ago a Pieces store opened in my city. There I saw the lacquers again and this time I got a little more enthusiastic. The first color that I noticed was this brown color named Light Cookie Dough. I do not think that this name suits the polish because in my opinion cookie dough is way lighter than this nailpolish. But I do not mind, cause the color itselfs looks quite good.

On the downside: the polish is quite thick and not really easy to apply. Tomorrow I will show you Granit. After I tried this one I knew Granit would need a little thinner. That made it a whole different story, I liked the application when I thinned the polish a little. I used for these pictures 2 coats, but it still isn’t a full coverage as you can see, so you probably need 3. I like the package of the lacquers, but I dislike the fact that I can’t take off the cap, because I do not like working with the square cap. The lacquers are sold for €2,95 each and 3 for €6,95 which is quite good for what you get. The bottle contains 10 ml. As far I could check the ingredients, the lacquers is big 3 free.

  • My overal opinion is good, after you use some thinner. The collection changes once in a while and they have fashionable colors. You can get these lacquers at a Pieces or Vero Moda store. They are €2,95 each or 3 for €6,95 which I think is a good deal.

Blue Bell

I really thought that this one was up for today, but I think it wasn’t or I didn’t saved it. Anyways, last in row from these DC lacquers is Blue Bell. A gorgeous blue color. I really really like it. These are only 2 coats and complete coverage. Application was okay, it dried a bit slower than I am used to with Diamond Cosmetics but it wasn’t bad at all. I like this color with Princess Orchid the best from all the lacquers that are in this special Boozyshop collection. The color of this one reminds me a bit of an jeans.

Bluh, my cuticles look horrible! The weather in the Netherlands is getting really cold. We actually had our first snow today. I need to get used to use my lemony flutter more!

Princess Orchid

This is another exlusive for Boozyshop Diamond Cosmetics lacquer. It’s named Princess Orchid, which, at my humble opinion suits the polish. I like the dark burgundy red color, although it makes my skin even paler than it already is, but I don’t mind. These are 2 coats which looked good when I took the pictures, but the macro function shows every little detail so I should’ve done one extra coat.

It’s slightly lighter than it shows on this picture, but it gives you a good view at how it looked in real life with 2 coats. This is without a topcoat but I have to say these pictures a made right after application, so the polish is not completely dry jet. But I have to say that most DC’s have some great shine on their own, but I always use topcoat to seal them, for the shine I feel like I don’t need an extra topcoat. I really like these lacquers, I think everyone who loves nailpolish should at least own a few of Diamond Cosmetics.

MNY 357

This is a dark red color from the new MNY line. It seems to be a bit dupish to Chanel’s Rouge Noir. I think it is darker, but I’m not sure and I can’t do a comparision because I do not own the Chanel one.

The picture above shows you how this lacquer looks like when you do one coat. Streaky as hell but you can see that it is actually a dark red. On the other pictures I wear 2 coats, but it shows a bit darker than it is in real life, you can see it’s a really dark red instead of black. This one didn’t dried as fast as the other MNY polishes I own. I rushed a bit when applicating this so I took some of the first layer when I applied the second.

I find this one a bit to dark for me. I do like dark polishes but I think I would have liked this one a bit better when it was a teeny tiny bit lighter so you could see the red a little better. The lacquer is an complete cream one.

MNY 353

This tomato red lacquer is MNY’s 353, another one of the 4 my sister picked. Application was great again. I really like the brush they did choose for this lacquers. It is a medium sized one and I find it really easy to handle. I like brushes like this.

This lacquer is a really bright red. I’m really pale and I find my skin looking a bit dead when wearing this. Especially when I have cold hands. I think I will wear this more in spring/summer when my hands aren’t as pale as they are at the moment. I do think this color is really really beautifull.  One of those reds I always wanted to have as a little child. The color is really pigmentated, it is opague in only 2 coats. Removal was very easy. For some reason my hands didn’t get all red which happens a lot with red lacquers.

MNY 549 ft. Konad

I tried another MNY lacquer. My sister bought me 4 lacquers when I asked her to pick out some colors for me. I always like these surprises cause she is buying other colors than I would. One of them is this dark brown creme. I didn’t liked it on my own, I have way to light skin for this color. So I decided to do a konad. I messed the konad up big time, so I did a little touch up with a brush, but that didn’t made it any better, so sorry for this messed up nailart. I tested how long this lacquer hold so I showered, worked with it and a day of school, and a day with some shopping and the result is this. The lacquer stays on pretty well, a little chipped at my middle finger but the rest is okay. I’m surprised.

I think the brown and silver is a good combination. I got a lot of compliments on my nails on my work. I see a lot of people looking but not saying a thing. Does this happens to you too? I’m always wondering what they are thinking and if they like it or not. Not that I mind because I do like it, but it is always nice to have some compliments on your nails.

Walk of Fame

Yep, here’s another nude. This brown color is from the Colour & Go line from Essence and only cost met €1,79 or so. I wasn’t planning on buying another nude, but there was a 2+1 sale so I needed a +1 and chose for Walk Of Fame.

Walk Of Fame is a greyish creme brown color. The application was okay, 2 coats for complete coverage. It was a bit on the thick side, which I experience all the time with Essence polishes. That’s one of the main reasons I do not really like the lacquers from this brand. I have to say I the Limited Editions are way better than the core line lacquers. Those are easy to applicate and not as thick as the cores. After all I like this color and with some thinner it is a nice polish.
