Essence – Choose Me

So, it’s been a while ago since my last nailpolishpost. I’m sorry about that but school was a little bit more important for me last week. Now I’ve got time to blog again, so here is a new swatch. This time I’m gonna show you Essence’s Choose Me. I know this polish is featured quite a lot on the WWW and that’s why I waited a bit with swatching it. When I got this as a surprise at the package from PimpMyNailz I’ve won recently I remembered this one and decided it was time to do a blogpost. I got a backup for this one and will do a giveaway soon so you can win it!

This one is really easy to apply on your nails. The downside is that it is quite pigmentated and stains your nails easily. A good basecoats is really recommended for this one. The other downside is that it kinda sheer so I needed 3 quite thick coats to get this opaque. The pictures shown above are a little bit more green than the polish is irl. It’s more like the bottle. more duochrome with really gorgeous blue and green colors and shimmer. It’s one of the many dupes from Zoya Charla but I’m really glad I got it. A must-have for every lacquerista.
Stargazer 317

The last of the 3 Stargazers I own. This one is a bit similar to 305. The last one has more glitter and a little less blue in it. 317 is more like a shimmer. Where I had a bit of a hard time to capture the blue in the 305 one I had a hard time to capture the purple in this. In real life you can see the duochrome effect that this polish has a lot better.

Application was great again, this is 3 coats. Dry time was a bit longer than the other two but still okay, with fast drying topcoat it will be good anyways. I’m really liking these formulas. I love duochrome lacquers so I’m glad I added these to my stash.
Stargazer 305

One of the other Stargazer polishes I bought is this blue purple one. It is extremely hard to photograph. The purple side was easy, but the blue side (in real life it shows really well) was hard. I did it with the flash so you can see it a little better, but it’s still not what it is in real life.

I love this one. I really like purple toned lacquers so I knew I had to have this. It also reminds me of another polish of the Orly Cosmix collection. Lots of dupes!

What I forgot to tell you yesterday is that the Stargazer lacquers contain 14ml, which is quite good for a polish, especially for the price you pay for it. Orly ones contain a little more, 18 ml, but they retail for $10,-. I did 3 coats for this, but I got an almost complete coverage with 3. This one didn’t survived my workday, so I need to try it with topcoat sometime soon. Chips weren’t that big btw. I definately like this brand and want to try more of the polishes.
Once again, they are available at BeautyFocus.nl. If you know any other store or webshop that sells these, please tell me so I can update the posts.
Fulfill your fantasy.

Orly is becoming one of my favourite brands. They make lovely polishes that are quite extraordinary. Take this one for example. A light purple base filled with gold shimmer that makes a duochrome. When the first swatches catched my eyes I immediately knew I had to have this one. My lovely e-friend Suzanne was ordering at Nailpolishfashion, a dutch webshop, when she saw that Fantasea was for sale there. She texted me and ordered one for herself and one for me. How lovely. Last week it finally arrived (it was at backorder) and today I made my own swatches. Gosh I love this one.

This is one of those polishes you keep staring at. I really like how sometimes it seems more gold than other times. It is kinda sheer, so this is 4 coats for complete coverage. Three was okay but I hate visible nail lines so I used another one. Good thing is that it dries kinda quickly so it didn’t take me long for completing this manicure.
