DC Hue are you?

When I found out on twitter that one of my favourite webshops Boozyshop had a -40% off Diamond Cosmetics sale I immediately knew I had to order some. I had 3 colors on my wishlist but only 2 were available. I already have so much Diamond Cosmetics polishes that the rest wasn’t really my thing so I only ordered the two I wanted in first place.

First of them is Hue Are You. A brownish red with little gold shimmer/glitter. It’s not really glitter, it’s not really shimmer so I don’t really know how to describe it. It really is a gorgeous polish. The color is in between these pictures. It was really easy to apply, but the formula was a bit on the thin side. I personally don’t mind that, but I know that some of my readers like their nailpolish a bit thicker. Drytime was quick! I accidently bumped into my camera while swatching, think the nailpolish was on for a little less than 5 minutes and nothing really happened. Well if that isn’t fast!
Diamond Cosmetics is available for €3,95 at Boozyshop.nl. She sends internationally so for my non-dutch readers, you can order at her!
Milani Blue Flash

Last in this series is Blue Flash from the One Coat Glitter collection. A gorgeous blue glitter. I really like the glitters in the one coat glitter collection. They are easy to apply and only take 2 coats to cover. Removal is quite easy for a glitter lacquer.

Gritty without topcoat, same as Purple Gleam. This one has a clear base and dries with silver and blue glitters.

With one coat of topcoat. This one needs a thick coat or at least 2 to make it feel like a normal lacquer instead of a gritty one when you go over your nails with your finger.
I still recommened everyone that loves glitterpolishes to buy these ones. They are amazing and I after these I also want to get the other ones in this collection.
Milani – Gems

I promised you to do swatches from the other two lacquers I own from this collection. Today i’ll show you Gems. It is the polish in the middle of the above picture. A sheer glitter topper.

I picked Diamond Cosmetics Mystical Knights for this manicure. I like that color under most of my glitter “topcoats”. It is a really dark blue, almost black. Since I don’t like pure black with my skincolor this one is a really good option. This is 2 coats with one coat of Gems.

As you can see Gems has a clear base color and it will take you a lot of coats to get complete coverage if you only want the glitters on your nails. Personally I don’t mind that, because I bought this one to make my manicures a bit more special. I know for a fact that Suzanne from DeltaCephei tried the polish without a basecoat and she needed 5 coats to cover her nail. You love glitter or you don’t

For those who want to know. You can buy the Milani FX Jewel at CherryCulture. There are 2 other polish, a silver and a gold one. They are for sale for $4,99. I haven’t seen the one coat glitters yet, but I’ve read at Scrangie’s post that it is a Spring Collection and won’t be available till February.
All that glitter

Suzanne got me a little christmas present. It’s this amazing glitter polish from Sally Hanssen, called Rockstar Pink. Don’t you love it? These are 3 coats and it was fully opaque. Application was really easy, it’s not as jelly as I am used to with glitter polishes. It dried quickly and it’s a bitch to take off, but hey, look at how gorgeous it is.. If that’s the only downside. And I know some tricks to get glitterpolish off my nails in an easy way. That’s it for now. I’m gonna enjoy another christmasdinner with my mom’s family. Have a nice day!
Oh and ladies, you can still enter the giveaway!
DC Purple and Turquoise Glitter

These are 2 of the other lacquers from the Exclusive Boozyshop Diamond Cosmetics. They have a clear basecolor and are full of glitters. They do need a basecolor, because these swatches are 3 coats and it still didn’t cover my whole nails. I do think the glitters are really gorgeous, they are so shiny when the light hits them. If you are looking for a nice colored glitter topper, these are a good suggestion! They do have a jelly base, which is quite normal for a glitter. That makes them not that easy to apply if you want to use it as a regular lacquer.
Lubu Heels

I want to show you one of the lacquers I love the most of my stash. I thought I already showed you this one, but I haven’t. I think a lot of you already know this amazing color, since it is so gorgeous and I think many girls already have it. If you do not, why wait any longer! It is a-ma-zing. I’m talking about Lubu Heels. A gorgeous polish with a black base and really nice red shimmers.

In real life the red glitter is a bit more noticeable than on the pictures above. It’s more like the part near my cuticles on the swatch above. I really love it! If you are looking at this manicure close you can see how amazing it is, are you a little further away it is more like a burgundy red. The wear time is amazing. I wore this for a whole week (including 2 work-days) and only after the last work-day with a lot of wrapping boxes and unpacking I needed it to take of because it was chipped. Application was also great, this is 2 coats. I think this is a must-have in every collection cause it’s original and lovely.
Atlantis

I loved this polish when I first saw swatches of it. I had it for quite a while now, but only used it once. It is quite opague on its one so you need to use a basceolor. The thing I dislike about this glitter is that is quite thick, kinda jelly. I do not like working with these kind of lacquers. I work fast so I always get more polish on the tips of my nails, wich makes it look like there is a lot of polish on my nails.
I used a black base for this manicure, but Atlantis looks great on a blue or green basecoat, cause it has a blue base.
MNY 673

I think you probably read enough for the entire year (and next year) about Maybelline’s MNY but when I saw this polish I knew I had to have it. Why didn’t I saw this earlier? It’s a gorgeous black with big silver glitters that don’t show up on these photograph as well as they do in real life. Application was not as good as the other lacquers I own from this brand. This one was thick and didn’t apply that easy. Dry time was not so good too. Weird that from the same brand and same line formulas are different. I do recommend this because it’s so drop dead gorgeous in my opinion. A lacquer every addict should have!
Head Banging

This is one of the lacquers in my stash that I have for quite a long time but forgot about having it. I bought it back in februari if I’m not mistaken and never even tried it. Shame on me. That’s the one side of being a blogger and a nailaddict. I’ve got so many lacquers that I forget about them and they are standing there in my Helmer, not being used once. When I did a little search trough my stash I found it, and decided to wear it.

I was actually quite surprised. It is amazing! The fact that I don’t really like greens, well, this one is gorgeous! It is a bit more green than the pictures show. I love the glitters in it. Opague in 3 coats. Drytime was quick. Well, I actually don’t have anything I do not like about this polish. Everyone knows by now that glitter is a bitch to remove, so that would be the only thing I can mention.
For the girls who like this lacquer, it is available at Cherryculture and Boozyshop. It’s from the Rockstar collection.
Sparkling Fire

A while ago I ordered some things at CherryCulture.com. I ordered some Sinful Colors, some of them are already featured on Nailoholic. When I was browsing their nails section I stumbled upon LASplash. I never heard of this brand before so I was curious and ordered Sparkling Fire. On the swatch on their website it seemed to be a dark red with red glitters. I could not find any swatches, so I just went on and ordered it. The lacquers are only $3,99 so why not. When it came in I was a little dissapointed. It is a clear basecolor and red glitters, so on it’s one it won’t give you that full coverage that I was hoping for. The pictures show you 3 layers, and on my ringfinger 5, or 6, I lost track after the 3 layer…

On it’s one it isn’t much, but I think it will look great layered over another color. A red basecolor with this glitters, yeah, think I’m gonna like that. Will give it a try soon.
