Ladybug

A while ago I saw a nailart with ladybugs. I don’t remember where and unfortunately I didn’t bookmarked the website, so if you recognize this nailart and you know who made it originally please leave a comment so I can mention it in my post!

They are so easy to make! You just need a basecolor, and a white and black striper. Apply your base, with a black striper you make the first lines, with the white one you make a little accent next to the black lines. Take the black one again and make little dots and don’t forget to give your ladybug a little head and you’re done. They look a better if the stripes are thinner than mine. This technique can be used for a lot of different designs, I got some ideas after doing these.

Stripes

For todays manicure I once again got inspired by one of my favourite nailblogs, The Lacquer Files. Michelle has a thing for stripes, she used that on a lot of manicures i’ve seen from her. Anyways, a while ago she posted this green nailart tutorial and there you have my inspiration. Of course I already knew that with stripers it’s quite easy to do a nailart stripes, but I never tried it in this way.

Here is my version of the striped nails. For the basecolor I used 2 layers of Paris Memories #244, the black and white stripers are from the Herome Graffiti Nail Art line. It’s really easy to do, and I personally think it gives you a really nice fun and funky manicure. Gotta do this more often with different colors. I really like it.

Nailart

So, a few days ago I told you about the konad 2 way nailart pens, today I’m gonna show you a nailart I made with these.

It was quite easy to do and took me for about 5 minutes extra. Normally when I do a plain nailcolor it takes me up to 5 minutes. I used the penside, drew the outlines and colored them. The nailart is a bit thicker, but with a topcoat it’s hardly noticable.

The basecolor I used was 290 from Paris Memories. It’s one of the mini’s I own. Great thing about these is that the brush isn’t in a mini size like the bottle. Application was great, but kinda hard to do because the cap is really small so a lot less easy to handle than the normal sized bottles. I wore this manicure for 3 days, including 2 workdays and got quite some compliments. Even the customers at my work noticed this manicure.

Paris Memories – 220

I’m searching for the perfect red for me. I do not own many red lacquers, so I’m trying to get a few more in my stash. This seemed like a bright red in the bottle, but on my nails it’s darker. When I did the first coat I was really surprised. This polish is really pigmented! The picture above shows you 1 coat! I’m not really a onecoater girl. I always like my lacquers better when I do 2 coats, so of course I tried this lacquer with 2 coats.

This is 2 coats. It’s still a quite bright color. I do like it a lot. I think that every girl/woman needs to have at least one red polish in her stash. It’s perfect for many occassions and of course it’s the nailcolor that will always be one the top list of colors. It all started with red nailpolish and I think it is a real classy color.

Paris Memories – 212

This is the sheer, frosty finished polish from Paris Memories I told you about. I think this one is great to layer over another polish, it has a silver frosty finish, think it would be cool on a dark color. Remind me of this, but I will try it out for you any time soon.

This is 3 thin coats. Makes the lacquer quite opaque but still got the VNL. For a sheer lacquer, 3 coats and almost full coverage is really good.

Paris Memories – 229

Today it’s time for this gorgeous pink/purple color. When I did the first coat of this lacquer I had a feeling I had seen it before. Turned out that one of my favourites from the minis I got for my birthday is the exact same color. I searched if I already did a post of this color, couldn’t find one, so here it is.

It’s a color in between purple and pink, but it hangs more on the pink side. It has a real small silver shimmer in it. The lacquer is opaque in 2 coats. Application was great as usual. This polish was a bit on the thicker side than the other Paris Memories I own, but still very good.

Paris Memories – 244

I mentioned this brand in a few post (1-2-3) before. In those posts I’m quite enthusiastic about this brand. So I did a little research and found out that this brand is sold at the dutch store Dirx. The polish is really amazing. And the best of all? It only cost 1,29€ a bottle. That’s really cheap! Even cheaper than the Catrice polishes. Application is great. The lacquers are a bit watery, but nothing that bothers me. Better than some of the Catrice ones that are having a real thick consistency and need to be thinned. Dry time is really fast, most of the colors are opaque in 2 coats. Even the sheer one I’m gonna show you sometime soon was opaque in 3 coats. I really recommend you to get this brand. I’m really sorry for those who are not living in the Netherlands or near a a Dirx store. I’m searching for a webshop or another store that sells these. If you know any webshop or store that sells Paris Memories? Please send me an email or leave a comment.

Edit: Floortje told me that some of the Douglas shops sell Paris Memories.

Today it’s 244 I’m showing you. It’s a real cool red based color with golden shimmers. It reminds me a bit of Strawberry Fields from China Glaze, but this is the red version. I had a real hard time photographing this one. The golden shimmer isn’t showing as it shows on your nails. I did my best, but remember that the shimmer shows up better than in the photographs, but it’s not as strong as the shimmer in Strawberry Fields.

I did 3 coats of this lacquer, to get a complete coverage. I think you already know how I think about visible nail lines, so no need to explain that.

Lately I really like my purple polishes. Don’t know why but they are most of the time the first one I choose out for wearing. Normally I’m more a pink girl but at this time I like to try out other colors, finally haha! My pink collection is getting way out of hand. This is really one of my favourite polishes. It’s a lovely purple color with little pink and blue glitters. Application was great again, it needed 3 coats for full coverage and the only con I can think of is that it doesn’t dry as quick as my ChinaGlaze polishes. But it’s good, it’s real good!

NP 274

I’m really sorry there wasn’t a post up this afternoon. I totally forgot to upload a post yesterday, and I always work the whole saturday. But well, here it is. This is another one of the polishes I got from one of my friends for my birthday. She really spoiled me, I got 9 polishes in total. Isn’t she sweet? And she picked really cool colors. This is a bronze/gold one. Not really my kind of polishes normally but I like this one. Application was great again, dry time could be better but it’s okay.

It has a nice shimmer in it. I think this isn’t really my type of polish cause I don’t like it with my white and really pale skintone.

This is another nailpolish brand who doesn’t like to give their nailpolishes a name instead of a number. What a shame cause the polish is quite good. Application was really smooth, dry time was a bit on the long side but Seche will fix that. The polish is a nice warm pink with gold and blue/purple shimmer in it. It needed 3 coats to be opaque.

I didn’t know this brand before I got a few polishes from one of my friends for my birthday. I believe she sells them in the shop she’s working. She did a great job choosing colors. Besides this I got another purple and gold one, and 2 mini sets with purple and pink colors and glitters. Swatches of them will follow soon.
