DC Purple and Turquoise Glitter

These are 2 of the other lacquers from the Exclusive Boozyshop Diamond Cosmetics. They have a clear basecolor and are full of glitters. They do need a basecolor, because these swatches are 3 coats and it still didn’t cover my whole nails. I do think the glitters are really gorgeous, they are so shiny when the light hits them. If you are looking for a nice colored glitter topper, these are a good suggestion! They do have a jelly base, which is quite normal for a glitter. That makes them not that easy to apply if you want to use it as a regular lacquer.

Garé Cosmetics

When I was at an euroshop nearby I found these nailpolishes. They are from Garé cosmetics. They were €2,50 each. I’ve never heard or seen about this brand before, so I did some research and found out Garé is from the same distributor as Black Onyx. Black Onyx is another budget brand that’s origine is in the Netherlands, but is sold in more countries in Europe.

I tried 2 lacquers. A pink (#14) with glitter and a purple shimmer, wich unfortunately I can’t find a number because the label stayed on the plastic package it has when you buy it, so I think I trew it away.

Anyways. I’m not so sure about these polishes. The color range the line has is not that special, most of them seemed really sheer. I bought the two that seemed okay to me. The application is okay, the formula is kinda thick and slow drying. But the thing I hated the most was the smell. That really was a big obstacle for me. I think most of you know the smell of Seche Vite? If you thought that was bad, well, you don’t want to know how bad these smell.

The colors are okay, 2 coats for complete coverage but I’ve seen these colors by many brands, so they are not that spectecular. I think I will not buy myself some of the other colors and stick to the brands I know and like.

Stargazer 317

The last of the 3 Stargazers I own. This one is a bit similar to 305. The last one has more glitter and a little less blue in it. 317 is more like a shimmer. Where I had a bit of a hard time to capture the blue in the 305 one I had a hard time to capture the purple in this. In real life you can see the duochrome effect that this polish has a lot better.

Application was great again, this is 3 coats. Dry time was a bit longer than the other two but still okay, with fast drying topcoat it will be good anyways. I’m really liking these formulas. I love duochrome lacquers so I’m glad I added these to my stash.

Stargazer 305

One of the other Stargazer polishes I bought is this blue purple one. It is extremely hard to photograph. The purple side was easy, but the blue side (in real life it shows really well) was hard. I did it with the flash so you can see it a little better, but it’s still not what it is in real life.

I love this one. I really like purple toned lacquers so I knew I had to have this. It also reminds me of another polish of the Orly Cosmix collection. Lots of dupes!

What I forgot to tell you yesterday is that the Stargazer lacquers contain 14ml, which is quite good for a polish, especially for the price you pay for it. Orly ones contain a little more, 18 ml, but they retail for $10,-. I did 3 coats for this, but I got an almost complete coverage with 3. This one didn’t survived my workday, so I need to try it with topcoat sometime soon. Chips weren’t that big btw. I definately like this brand and want to try more of the polishes.

Once again, they are available at BeautyFocus.nl. If you know any other store or webshop that sells these, please tell me so I can update the posts.

MNY 553

MNY is the new budget brand from Maybelline. The prices are in between €1 and €3. The lacquers are sold for €2,49. This is number 553. Unfortunately the products haven’t got fancy names but numbers, I like names better but hey, that’s their choice. The bottle looks like the Model Own’s ones with the white cap, but the MNY bottlecap got a sticker with the MNY logo and some cool graphics. Every product of the line has these kind of graphics so it is easy to notice that these products are from the same line.

I didn’t expect much of the pigment and application of the polish. I do not like the polishes from Maybelinne so I was expecting this to be the same. It wasn’t. The application was really really smooth, a big surprise to me. The polish wasn’t to thick or to thin, just right. I applicated two coats and it was fully opaque. The polish showed up just as in the bottle. Dry time was quicker than I thought it would be. It took about 5-10 minutes to be touch-dry.

For my dutchies: This brand is available at Etos stores. Not those on the trainstations, only the larger citystores. The brand is also available in Germany as I heared.

2B Cosmic

When I am in one of the drugstores I always buy some nailpolish I skip this brand. I don’t know why but for some reason I do not like the way it looks or something like that. A few weeks ago I was there again and when I was waiting for my sister who took a looong time looking at some stuff, so I decided to take a look at 2B. The lacquer I’m showing you today is the one that caught my eye. It is a dark purple with blue shimmer. In the bottle it looks a bit more on the red side than on my nails.

I didn’t thought I would like it as much as I do.  Why didn’t I picked up this brand before? The application was great. The polish is kinda on the thick side, but nothing worse. I did 3 coats for this polish to get complete coverage.

A close up in sunlight. See how gorgeous it is? 2B is a cheap brand, and unfortunately I can’t remember how much it is, but it will be something like 2 or 3€.

Cowgirl up ft Nfu Oh.

Yay, my internet is back up! So finally an update again. Last week I asked a friend of mine what nailpolish I should wear. He wanted purple with glitters. So, that’s the little story behind this nailpolish. It’s ChinaGlaze’s CowGirl Up topped with a layer of Nfu Oh’s 51. For those wondering. Yep, one of my favourite manicures is a purple color topped with an flake. I think this color combination is really amazing and the purple makes the flakes pop a bit more.

H&M – Fashionista

This color from H&M was featured at a lot of blogs, but I still want to show it to you. It’s a really goregous purple color with a hint of blue. I really like to wear this one when Autumn comes in. It is a bright but still a dark color. I really like that combination.

Application was okay, but it dries not as fast as I liked it to dry. As you can see on the pictures I was a little bit impatient and it smudged. My fault. The color was  not so easy to photograph. The pictures a quite good, but it is still not as gorgeous as the lacquer is in reallife.

P2 Rich

So, the last one of the 5 p2 lacquers I own. This one is my favourite of the 5. It is a really dark purple, wich shows up black most of the time. It is full of glitters, and is extremely hard to photograph. I could not get it right. I’ve made for about 60 photo’s, wich is quite a lot for me. Normally I take about 20 pictures and there it’s difficult to choose wich one will be featured at the article. Now I have 40 photographs of it and none of them show how rich of glitter this one is. This lacquer has got gold, red, purple and blue glitters. The pictures I choose are the best I could get for you.

This polish was a bit thick, but after thinning it it applied like a dream. Full coverage in 2 coats.

Paris Memories – 229

Today it’s time for this gorgeous pink/purple color. When I did the first coat of this lacquer I had a feeling I had seen it before. Turned out that one of my favourites from the minis I got for my birthday is the exact same color. I searched if I already did a post of this color, couldn’t find one, so here it is.

It’s a color in between purple and pink, but it hangs more on the pink side. It has a real small silver shimmer in it. The lacquer is opaque in 2 coats. Application was great as usual. This polish was a bit on the thicker side than the other Paris Memories I own, but still very good.
