Ladybug

A while ago I saw a nailart with ladybugs. I don’t remember where and unfortunately I didn’t bookmarked the website, so if you recognize this nailart and you know who made it originally please leave a comment so I can mention it in my post!

They are so easy to make! You just need a basecolor, and a white and black striper. Apply your base, with a black striper you make the first lines, with the white one you make a little accent next to the black lines. Take the black one again and make little dots and don’t forget to give your ladybug a little head and you’re done. They look a better if the stripes are thinner than mine. This technique can be used for a lot of different designs, I got some ideas after doing these.

DC Hue are you?

When I found out on twitter that one of my favourite webshops Boozyshop had a -40% off Diamond Cosmetics sale I immediately knew I had to order some. I had 3 colors on my wishlist but only 2 were available. I already have so much Diamond Cosmetics polishes that the rest wasn’t really my thing so I only ordered the two I wanted in first place.

First of them is Hue Are You. A brownish red with little gold shimmer/glitter. It’s not really glitter, it’s not really shimmer so I don’t really know how to describe it. It really is a gorgeous polish. The color is in between these pictures. It was really easy to apply, but the formula was a bit on the thin side. I personally don’t mind that, but I know that some of my readers like their nailpolish a bit thicker. Drytime was quick! I accidently bumped into my camera while swatching, think the nailpolish was on for a little less than 5 minutes and nothing really happened. Well if that isn’t fast!

Diamond Cosmetics is available for €3,95 at Boozyshop.nl. She sends internationally so for my non-dutch readers, you can order at her!

Femme Fatale

This lovely nailpolish is the other one I own from Teeez Cosmetics. I really really like this one. It is kinda a flakie and I like red lacquers better every day. At the moment I’ve got Ruby Pumps as my manicure for New Years Eve but this one is almost as gorgeous as that one. It applied really easy, 2 coats was enough for complete coverage. It has great yellow orange and purple/blue flake like glitters. I really like this one! The bottle contains 10ml and cost around €4,50.

l’Oreal Resist & Shine

I’ve had a really busy weekend, worked on the saturday and sunday and unfortunately I didn’t had the time to put something online. So I’m sorry that this post is kinda late. Last week I got two l’Oreal polishes. This one is from the Resist & Shine titanium collection, it’s number 535. I only swatched it, so I can’t say anything about the weartime. l’Oreal claims it will last up to 7 days, but I’m doubting that. I’ve never had a nailpolish that lasted that long.

Application was good, the polish was a bit on the thin side, so sorry for having my cuticles covered with nailpolish. I needed three coats for full coverage. Dry time was bit slow in my opinion but still okay. Nothing that a fast-drying topcoat can’t fix. The bottle has a bit of a fancy design. It’s a retangle design, but luckily the bottle cap is removable so you have a round brushhandle. I like that better than the square ones. I find that the round ones are easily to handle and to easier to move.

Overall I like this lacquer. I dislike the fact that l’Oreal still test on animals, which is a shame. The final products aren’t tested, but the ingredients could be. I bought my bottle at an cheapass store in my neighboorhood, but normally the bottles sell for €8,99.

Gypsy Pink

My last untried Diamond Cosmetics polish is this color. It’s called Gypsy pink, which suits the color I think. I really like it. It reminds me a bit of Fuschia Flash, another DC color. This one has a bit more red in it and a little less of the blue shine Fuschia Flash has. The formula from this one was great. Just right, not to thin, not to thick. I applied 2 coats, so the pigmentation is also very good. I do recommend you to make sure you wear a good basecoat under this one cause it might stain a bit.

Think this one is gonna be one of my favourites in summer.

Princess Orchid

This is another exlusive for Boozyshop Diamond Cosmetics lacquer. It’s named Princess Orchid, which, at my humble opinion suits the polish. I like the dark burgundy red color, although it makes my skin even paler than it already is, but I don’t mind. These are 2 coats which looked good when I took the pictures, but the macro function shows every little detail so I should’ve done one extra coat.

It’s slightly lighter than it shows on this picture, but it gives you a good view at how it looked in real life with 2 coats. This is without a topcoat but I have to say these pictures a made right after application, so the polish is not completely dry jet. But I have to say that most DC’s have some great shine on their own, but I always use topcoat to seal them, for the shine I feel like I don’t need an extra topcoat. I really like these lacquers, I think everyone who loves nailpolish should at least own a few of Diamond Cosmetics.

Lubu Heels

I want to show you one of the lacquers I love the most of my stash. I thought I already showed you this one, but I haven’t. I think a lot of you already know this amazing color, since it is so gorgeous and I think many girls already have it. If you do not, why wait any longer! It is a-ma-zing. I’m talking about Lubu Heels. A gorgeous polish with a black base and really nice red shimmers.

In real life the red glitter is a bit more noticeable than on the pictures above. It’s more like the part near my cuticles on the swatch above. I really love it! If you are looking at this manicure close you can see how amazing it is, are you a little further away it is more like a burgundy red. The wear time is amazing. I wore this for a whole week (including 2 work-days) and only after the last work-day with a lot of wrapping boxes and unpacking I needed it to take of because it was chipped. Application was also great, this is 2 coats. I think this is a must-have in every collection cause it’s original and lovely.

Vertical Rush

I thought I showed this one on Nailoholic before, but I didn’t. This is Vertical Rush from Chinaglaze. It is a really cool pinkish red with shimmer. The application is great, just what we are used to from China Glaze. The wear time is a bit of a turn off. It chipped after a few hours and after two days I really had to take it off. I’m not used to that with ChG.

I was surprised with the pigmentation. This is almost a 1 coater. I did two because I like that better, but if you are not into the perfectionisme like me it would do with one.

Franken

I bet a lot of you know the blog Dr. Frankenpolish. I decided to do some franken myself. I took 1/3 of a red Paris Memories lacquer, 1/3 of a neon yellow Sinful Colors (because I wanted the lacquer to be a little more orange) and 1/3 of a Sinful colors purple and blue glitter. Mixed them together and this is the result. It’s a tomato orangy red color with glitters. It is my first franken, so I think I did a good job.

The color was opaque in 3 thin coats and dried fast. I really enjoy the result. I would’ve liked it a little better if it had a bit more glitter. I think I will do another franken soon, when I found another empty polish bottle.

MNY 357

This is a dark red color from the new MNY line. It seems to be a bit dupish to Chanel’s Rouge Noir. I think it is darker, but I’m not sure and I can’t do a comparision because I do not own the Chanel one.

The picture above shows you how this lacquer looks like when you do one coat. Streaky as hell but you can see that it is actually a dark red. On the other pictures I wear 2 coats, but it shows a bit darker than it is in real life, you can see it’s a really dark red instead of black. This one didn’t dried as fast as the other MNY polishes I own. I rushed a bit when applicating this so I took some of the first layer when I applied the second.

I find this one a bit to dark for me. I do like dark polishes but I think I would have liked this one a bit better when it was a teeny tiny bit lighter so you could see the red a little better. The lacquer is an complete cream one.
